CymaBay PBC Drug Hits Phase 3 Goals With Signs of Side Effect Advantage

CymaBay Therapeutics' investigational drug seladelpar succeeded in a late-stage trial in patients with primary biliary cholangitis , producing results that suggest it could have a key side effect advantage compared to a drug currently used to treat the rare liver disease. Patients with PBC, which damages the bile ducts of the liver, are initially treated with ursodeoxycholic acid.
